Procedures to avoid the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19)

COVID-19 Policy updated August 4th 2020

MEASURES TO AVOID THE SPREAD OF CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

It still remains vital that we all take steps to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) to protect ourselves, our families, our customers families and of course our NHS.

Since the national lockdown started on 23rd March, Anything Electric has followed all Covid-19 Government guidelines and continues to work with virus control methods in place, with some restrictions and precautions applied (see Customer Interaction, Working Procedures & Customer requirements below).

We will still endeavor to provide quotes for your work via photos and videos wherever possible. However if we do need to visit your premises, please review the below procedures.

Customer Interaction:
1. As of July 2020, we are carrying out most domestic electrical work, providing either you or any of the occupants in your home are not:
    • Shielding*
    • Self-isolating*
    • Displaying any COVID 19 symptoms
    • Have been diagnosed positive for COVID 19
*if the work is safety related, we may still be able to attend after a discussion about additional protective measures.

2. We continue restricting work visits to 1 Electrician to 1 Household per day, limiting the risk spreading the virus.  The same electrician may also carry out a simple quote visit (less than 15 minutes requiring no investigation) to another household on that day.
3. We ask that you and your household maintain a 2m distance where practical from the electrician at all times.
4. If any of our team display symptoms, no matter how minor, they will not be permitted to travel to your home, and we will endeavor to send another team member.
5. We ask that you inform us if the situation regarding COVID 19 changes in your home at any time prior to a visit for a quote or to carry out any work.

Working Procedures:
• Upon arrival, the electrician will not shake hands with you or any other occupant.
• We will maintain a 2m distance where practical from anyone in your household, If this is not practical we may restrict working time or wear a face covering
• We will wash or sanitise our hands before, during and after the work and may wear disposable gloves and face covering.
• The electrician will take away all protective wear and used cleaning material with them.
• The electrician will sanitise their tools and the work area before and after the work.

Customer Requirements:
• We ask that you open doors and if possible ventilate the work room (e.g. open windows)
• We ask that you and all other occupants stay in another room away from the work area while the work is in progress if possible.
• Please do not offer any hospitality (tea, coffee etc.)

If our Electrician feels at risk at any point, they will inform you and undertake a personal risk assessment which may mean they leave your premises and rearrange the visit for a future date.
